Why Loreto?
Cerritos shares a bond with Loreto that will never be broken.

Many people remember the Aeromexico air disaster that occurred in 1986.  Some of the fatalities were residents of Cerritos and Loreto.  As an outgrowth of our mutual sadness and mourning, a new organization known as the "Friends of Loreto" was established to perform goodwill missions for the small Mexican community.

What is a Sister City?

The Sister City Program is a living legacy left by the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  He conceived the program and initiated it in 1956, as a new approach to securing peace around the world through the establishment of personal, people-to-people friendships between Americans and the people of other nations.
 How can you help?

Our organization is 100% volunteer based.  We have no paid employees, most volunteers consist of people around Cerritos.  Loreto is a beautiful, seaside village.  In the last few years it is evolving into a growing town.  There is new development on the North shore and also in the Nopolo area.  Loreto needs more services in the area of health and safety.

Donations can be made to provide more emergency services. This comes in the form of constructing a new Fire Station, additional fire engines, a water truck and additional ambulances.

If you have old medical equipment such as walkers, canes, wheelchairs, or used books and children's toys, these too can also be donated to the people and children of Loreto.
